Feni is a spirit produced exclusively in Goa. The small batch distillation of Feni has a fundamental effect. Feni drink is produced in a very natural way, though convoluted. The place where cashew apples are manually crushed is a hilltop rock shaped like a basin. Juice from the crushed cashew apples flows out of the basin to a clay pot. It is buried deep under the ground for fermentation. Only 4% of the fermented juice becomes alcohol.
